To The Parents Of Wanderers

To The Parents Of Wanderers

To the parents of wanderers...

I know that it hurts.

You did everything that you knew to do to “raise a child in the way that they should go....”

You’ve brought them to church.

You prayed with them before bedtime.

You gave them their first Bible.

You rejoiced when they prayed a prayer of repentance.

You were there cheering for them when they got baptized.

In All Things, Is God Enough?

In All Things, Is God Enough?

Recently God has opened up opportunities for me to talk with friends, family and people in our church about the everyday struggles and pains they are going thru; from job loss to infertility, pain is abundant. This might be you. If you are like me, you want to fix the problem in human ways and make you or someone else feel better. But are we really helping? By saying, “It’s ok”, “ You can do it”, “It will all work out” are we sharing God’s truth with Love and Grace?...

What Are We Praying For?

What Are We Praying For?

Have you ever considered what your prayers to God say about what is important to you? In the gospel accounts (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, Luke 19:46) Jesus quotes the Old Testament saying, “My house will be called a house of prayer.” Is this what we at Westside are known for? Do you call this a house of prayer? We believe it honors Jesus when God’s people are consistent in prayer. What are we supposed to be praying for anyway?
