SERIES DESCRIPTION

The Reel Evangelism Series seeks to recapture awareness of what it means to be lost and grow in our understanding of what it means to be hooked once again on what really matters—a relationship with Jesus Christ. Christ has commissioned us all as fishers of men to share with others the hope we have in Him. This series will renew our understanding of what it means to be lost and found, in Him.

We wore our fish hooks to Costco after church yesterday and the guy at the check out said, 'you all have the third set of gold hooks pinned on you I've seen today, what's up with it?' We told him we're fishing for Jesus. - Tom

The grocer at the small local grocery store has been on my heart and mind. He is a new dad and I've been praying to have an opportunity to share Christ with him or invite him to church. Last Saturday, I felt the tug of the Holy Spirit, but due to the business of the store, I declined. I felt like a failure, I told my husband I had chickened out. On our way out of the store, he approached us with pictures of his family. I looked around and the store had emptied. God gave me a second chance to share His message! I told him I had been praying for him and invited him to church. He was very grateful for the prayer and stated he and his family have been searching for a new church home. I gave him my husbands phone number and told to call if he ever wanted to come to church with us. It's amazing to see God's timing and have Him still use us in our moments of fear/discomfort. - Emily
I invited my good friend, who is a self-proclaimed atheist, to Apologetics class two weeks ago. I wasn't wearing my hook, but I have expressed to her how happy I've been since I've leaned more into my faith. I let the Apologetics class speak for itself, and she seemed intrigued by the "moral argument" that she hadn't considered before. So we'll see... - Heather
Last Saturday, Virgil Walker and I went door knocking on the near northside of Lincoln. I spied a young African -American guy on the porch putting his shoes on. Virgil said, "We love Lincoln and want to bless the area, how can we pray for you today?" Corneilus thought and said, "Prayer for my grandma in Omaha, she just had a stroke." I said, "Would she like a visit?" He said yes and I went home and visited her on the way. I came back the next Wednesday and Corneilus greeted me with a big hug! I asked, "Would you like to study God's Word together?" He said, "You bet!" We will get together on Tuesday evening with his friends and family in Lincoln.... - John
